Why I’m doing this
Living in the California Bay Area, wildfires have become a recurring danger. The 2020 CZU Lightning Complex fires were a particular wake-up call, with 20 homes burning within a mile of our house.
So I decided to help. I talked with local fire chiefs about their processes and needs; the tediousness of gathering the data they needed and getting it into a usable format for planning was keenly felt.
Bonny Doon Labs was born.
We aim to free up firefighters to fight fires.
